Screening

We sell this heat-shrink screening for making moulds:

It doesn’t really show in the photo but this product has a light blue colour. This screening can be affixed to the frame of a papermaking mould, then heated gently with a hot hair dryer to shrink the screening until it is taught. Avoid applying too much heat or the screening may melt, ruining it.

We also have a very limited remaining supply of a fine single-layer screening made for use in a commercial papermaking machine. Sorry, no photos.

Felts

For couching paper, our most popular product is spun-bonded heavy interfacing:

We also sell wool felt for couching, in three thicknesses:

6mm (¼″) wool felt

3mm (⅛″) wool felt

1.5mm (1/16″) wool felt

As a support for large or light sheets, we also offer light interfacing:

This is not absorbent enough for couching, but a sheet can be formed or placed on this to allow the sheet to be lifted and moved with reduced distortion.
